This same week, in conjunction with Teladoc, Movistar announced Movistar Salud, a new telemedicine service for individuals and companies. Now, the joint venture of Telefonica and Prosegur, Movistar Prosegur Alarmas, has just launched ContiGo, a out-of-home protection service.
Designed to provide immediate personal assistance in emergencies at any time and in any place, this new service is managed directly from the mobile application of Movistar Prosegur Alarms and has two functions: the SOS Button and the Countdown. It costs 3 euros a month, but as a launch promotion, Movistar is offering the first six months free.
With SOS button and destination arrival countdown
The use cases of ContiGo can be very diverse, but basically, they are focused on any situation where the user may feel unsafe such as going out at night and coming home to poorly lit or under-populated areas.
It is also suitable for older people and children when they go out of the house unaccompanied, and can be very helpful for those who do outdoor sports like running, biking or hiking.
As we mentioned at the beginning, ContiGo It has two functionalitiesSOS button with you and Countdown with you:
- SOS button with youIn a dangerous situation, the user presses the ContiGo SOS button and immediately, from the Alarm Reception Centre (ARC), the emergency protocol is activated, which consists of recording a video and audio clip from the moment the client presses the button.
In addition, a CRA operator will contact the user to confirm the alarm and, if communication cannot be established, notify the emergency services (112) and family members who have previously been designated as contact persons. If the SOS button is activated by mistake, the user can enter a deactivation code.
- Countdown with youIn order to provide greater security on journeys outside the home, from the app Prosegur Alarms Movistar, the user indicates its destination and a time of arrival. In the ARC, the geolocation of that person is activated and the evolution of their route is checked.
Once the time marked by the user has elapsed or if the user has reached his destination, he must enter the deactivation code to end the countdown. If you do not confirm your arrival at the destination, the CRA activates an emergency protocol similar to the one we explained in the SOS Button.
The ContiGo service is free of charge for the first six months, both for existing customers and for new registrations. After this period, the service is free of charge, its cost is 3 euros per user There is no limit on the number of authorized users who can use ContiGo.
