Over the last few years we have seen many examples of games that, after their success on computers and/or consoles, landed on our mobile screens. The latest example is ‘The Unfinished Swan’ is a first-person adventure video game that was developed by Giant Sparrow for PlayStation 3 and was launched in October 2012 via the PlayStation Network.
Now, almost eight years later, it is no longer exclusive to Sony consoles and lands on both PC and iOS (Android users will have to wait for now). The argument remains: it puts us in the skin of a young man who is chasing the swan that has escaped from an unfinished painting. All this, surrounded by white landscape splashed with paint.
New twists, challenges and puzzles in every chapter
This title, which, as we said, was originally published on PlayStation 3 in 2012 and then jumped to PS4 and PS Vita at the end of 2014, has just landed on more platformsSo from now on, iOS users can discover this narrative adventure from the creators of ‘What Remains of Edith Finch’: Annapurna Interactive and Giant Sparrow.
The Unfinished Swan’ plunges us into a world of mystery with a visual section splashed with paint in which the color white predominates. We will have to get into the skin of Monroe, a ten-year-old orphan, and chase a swan that has escaped from an unfinished painting.
That will lead us into a surreal place inspired by a fairytale setting where we’ll have to spread paint to reveal the world around us. Each chapter brings surprises, new ways to explore the environment, lots of strange (and sometimes dangerous) creatures and encounters with the eccentric king who built this empire.
The Unfinished Swan’ is now available on the App Store at price of 5.49 euros. It weighs 1.1GB and requires iOS 13.4 or later (iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch compatible). Please note, however, that it is currently only in English and is rated for ages 9 and up.
